Homemade baking.

23:02 May 29 2011
Times Read: 630

day 1 (21st of may): made chocolate fudge cake

day 2 (24th of may): made chocolate fudge cake (impr)

day 3 (27th of may): made tiramisu cheesecake

day 4 (29th of may): made peanut butter cookie

all of this is homemade... and no, we didn't not eat all of this ourselves. the first cake went to the wedding hash, the second one was shrunk to 1/4 of it's size and eaten, the tiramisu cheesecake went to the play party, and the peanut butter cookie will last a awhile.

Recently I've been doing a lot of homemade cooking as well.

baked fish, potato wedges, pulled barbeque chicken sandwiches, chicken corn soup, skillet, sheapard's pie, barbeque meatloaf...

the only thing i didn't homemake is sometimes i use store-bought sauce instead of making it (but so far only pasta sauces, anything else like barbeque sauce and such is made otherwise).

I feel like my cooking got much better recently, and i broadened my horizons with the grill, the stove, tons of baking (desserts and meals), and even by crock pot.

I feel accomplished with all of this, and proud of myself. No, not everything turns out perfect, and he and i have different tastes, but i think it's all going well. Might start making a food diary on here... lol.

Well, today is, to the day, three years and three months since I have started on VampireRave.

Today is also the day, I have gotten my Coven up and running.

I have dubbed it Terre D'Ange, and plan to use the stories surrounding that area (fictional country based off of historical Pre-Renaissance France) as my main centre in the Coven.

I am very happy today. Now, if only Teine could be home tonight to share it with me.

I am looking for members, and would be glad to accept anyone open-minded.

Wedding Hash...

20:49 May 22 2011
Times Read: 643

So we had the wedding hash last night... the trail was longer than usual due to the marking on the trail getting people lost about five different times, going through the shig...definitely going to wear spandex underneath a dress for a 5 mile walk next time.

So our B ended up a few miles from the on-after, we did a very short B, mostly telling the hare(s) about the shitty trail and introducing FIVE virgins! (though I don't really appreciate how I got introduced as a bringer of a virgin).

Then we went to the on after at a hasher's house, and since few people actually followed the potluck idea or dressed up (our best man did, our best girl didn't even show up or even say that she would or wouldnt, so we got the new mommy of the group who showed up at the on after to be my best).

So we ordered pizza, people commented on the cake though i thought it wasn't that great...

right when our Medic shows up I did start getting another "attack". I haven't had one for a long time.

But then again, i wasn't really hydrated, i didn't eat much that day, and i had really high blood pressure as well as low blodd sugar all at the same time...

people thought I was upset at my husband....lol

i had to keep telling them that i was about to pass out.

my husband got me a glass of water to help the dehydration somewhat, and I ate a piece of chicken (drumsticks) and a small piece of hawaiian pizza. My right hand was really swollen during trail, made me a little worried, and my virgin told my his hands get like that when it's high blood pressure, and once he massaged the blood to my hand the swelling went down.

The host at the house kept trying to get me into the pool, as did my husband, so I could feel better but the water was really cold and it was night, so we ambushed the jacuzzi where the kids were playing, and turned the heat up a little so it was more a hot tub rather than a warm tub. it felt nice, and there were about 3-10 people in it depending on who got out and in.

We got some good laughs and some cold splashes, and our own beer cooler that floated in the jacuzzi. lol.

The wedding itself was about ten minutes long, quite an interesting ceremony, it was rated X...

well, what the guy marrying us (who actually could marry us but since we were already married... we didn't need a real wedding, just a ceremony since we didn't get that when we were married).

It ended with us handcuffed to each other... and i had such small narrow wrists and hands, my hand got out very easy, which made people laugh.

eventually we got the key of the handcuffs from the host and got my husband free from it...

everyone throughout the night kept asking i was ok though because my attack showed through to people. I still had a bit of a fever though (dont know how that came to factor) according to our medic and the thermometer.

We didn't drink much that night... .oh and i received the HASHITT! which means i gotta add something to the real hashit when it comes back from NM (a hasher took that with her so we used my husband's goblet). and that will be one more thing to add...

So I will have:

12/25 trail runs (hashes)

02/05 hares

00/01 black lingerie run

01/01 green dress run

01/01 red dress run

00/01 mexican morroccas of death

00/01 never-ending flambango

01/01 bring a virgin

0.5/01 receive (& add) to hashit

13 hashes

03 hares

01 black lingerie run

01 morroccas

01 flambango

.5 add to hashit

bleh.. I guess I could always add to the hashit and do the morroccas as well as the black lingerie run the same night.... that will get rid of all but the hares, all my hash runs, and the flambango

Wedding Hash and Play Party

21:05 May 12 2011
Times Read: 685

WEDDING HASH! 21st of this month...

I got Salty to be my maid of honor, and Tim got our friend Josh as best man. Our roommate might be doing the marrying part, and it's a potluck for the on-after. I am making the wedding cake (because I haven't baked in ages) and going with a type of chocolate cake...

PLAY PARTY! 27th of this month...

We might be bringing our roommate to it, and there will be demos. I think I'm making tiramisu for the party, if not just doubling the cake idea and using that.

Grill, Shoes, and Tennessee

20:54 May 12 2011
Times Read: 686

So Tim's mom and dad decided to give us a grill for the wedding present, along with a bullet-like thing. Also, his mom insisted on getting me something since she missed my b-day, christmas and wanted to get me something for easter (like having us over for the weekend wasn't enough!) so she got me a pair of sandals. I have way too many shoes now, but the earth shoes are the ones I wear most often. The other pair is for hashing because it's not fun to walk/jog/run 2-4 miles in sandals, not when I scuff them up so bad... and the other pair is for when i'm not hashing but still want to work the muscles while I walk around to places. I mean, I know I dont have 20 pair of shoes like most women, but I still feel spoiled with the shoes I do have.

Anyway, back to the grill.

I was able to use it a few times since we got it on easter weekend, and I have to say, I love it. However the wind is horrible so it's not a good time for it this week.

They made us take a coffee pot also, since our's broke and they had an extra one they couldn't use and had no one else to give it too.

However, I am hoping we'll be near ft campbell by the end of this year. Perhaps then I can see my older brother again, and then my little brother can come live with us and join the army with our help. I think he wants to go into mechanics.

There are other reasons of going to TN of course, other than seeing family and friends that are seeming to migrate over there with time.

My big brother wouldn't stop talking about Nashville (yes, I realize Clarksville is a bit away from Nashville), he's been planning on moving there for about two years now... and wanted me to travel there with him, to make up for the time we've been away from each other and stuff. I finally agreed and Tim likes the idea since it's somewhere half way between his family and my own.

yay for patching family stuff up... not really. That isn't going as well as expected but at least I am taking better care of my little brother than our mother is. Hell, she even gave me permission for him to move to me when he's 18! not that it's any of her business afterwards and it's not like she could stop it.

Tim is so patient and understanding. I'm sure he is a big part of helping my little brother out. Not to mention, he looks up to Tim a lot. Couldn't say that about anyone else I was with.

Cassie will soon be living with us as well which will be a big help. I am excited for that. I think Tim would really like to meet her also. My little brother already met her (hmm hmm) and likes her.

Tim has been nothing but a positive part of my life, and I can only hope to at least do the same for him, which, he tells me, and everyone who REALLY knows him believes I do. His family loves me also. Then again that's partly because I don't try to tear their family apart to be with him, and because I respect them as well as love their son/brother (he has a great sister).

So, as for TN, I can't wait to get there. Thanks to my older brother making me so enthused to go. Just have to wait til the med-boarding process goes through.

Drew vs. Meier

20:33 May 11 2011
Times Read: 697

The first prosecution in American history of a cyberbullying case has led to the conviction of a Missouri woman on three of seven charges brought by federal prosecutors. Lori Drew, a 49-year-old mother of three, was convicted of three relatively minor misdemeanor charges relating to unauthorized computer access. She was acquitted of three additional felony charges of deliberately harassing a neighbor girl who ultimately committed suicide. The jury was unable to reach a decision on an additional conspiracy charge.1

Prosecutors had contended that Ms. Drew created the fake identity of a 16-year-old boy and used it to establish an online relationship with the 13-year-old girl, Megan Meier, and then led the relationship into abuse by mercilessly teasing and humiliating the girl until she was driven to suicide. Included in Ms. Drew’s communications with Ms. Meier was a statement by Ms. Drew, in her role as the fictitious “Josh Evans,” that “the world would be a better place” without Ms. Meier in it. Prior to its use in the cyberbullying case, the federal computer crime statute had been used only in computer hacking cases.2

The case has put a spotlight on the so-called terms of service that users must agree to in order to use a cybersite’s services. Associate law professor Greg Lastowka of Rutgers School of Law contends that the terms are typically “written to protect the companies you are dealing with.”3 Ms. Drew was ultimately convicted under the 1986 Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of violating the MySpace terms and conditions agreement rather than more serious felony charges, including a conspiracy count.

In a thought-provoking article, one New York Times

journalist asked this chilling question: “Is lying about one’s identity on the Internet now a crime?” 4 At least one other journalist has questioned whether the verdict in this case should be overturned. It is a reality that laws must evolve to cope with changing technology, but this case raises significant questions. Ms. Drew was convicted of misrepresenting herself online.

What’s next? Will an unattractive dweeb be able to sue the beautiful redhead he approached in a bar on Saturday night because she gave him a fake phone number? Imagine the number of such “law violations”that occur in an ordinary bar on an ordinary Saturday night. In the final analysis, it seems that the federal prosecutors fell back on the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act because they could not find a law that fit Ms. Drew’s deplorable actions.

Wow

so....

apparently if you add a minor to your degree plan, instead of adding credits to your plan, you go from 36 credit hours required (electives) to 18.

So in adding something you actually have less work to do...

i just got rid of half my electives, and melted a semester at least from my academic plan... 0.0

now...which minor to go for...

I have an asterisk by each one I am so far considering

Six Month Anniversary

13:33 May 02 2011
Times Read: 712

Yesterday was the six-month (half-year) anniversary between Tim and I. We recently had very little to be happy about... and in the week before I saw him once and missed him the rest of it.

Yesterday, we decided we were going to do something... we were not going to just stay in the house.

We will start off with those that woke us up. It was the day after the Saturday hash, so our roommate invited some of the hashers over that night (there were four hashers at our house last night not to include myself, Tim, and our roommate) at night.... they were loud. (some of it, i kinda wish we didnt hear).

And in the morning we were woken up and smelled someone cooking. Tim and I already guessed someone was making breakfast, and saw the notification on facebook from our hash page that our roommate invited hashers last night to the house and said he was making breakfast for us all in the morning for those who came or crashed here. Since we lived there we were a given, so we go out.

He made french toast (no syrup though), omelets, bacon, and one of the hashers came in the morning to bring orange juice and there was apple juice.

*grins*

After we saw that there was supposed to be more drinking that morning, Tim and I decided to leave for the day and celebrate. So, we decided on a movie and dinner.

So, what we did, is we went to the movies, watched fast five (YES!!!) and then went to a local mexican restaurant for dinner. After that, Tim and I kept talking about the whole series in general, thinking, what the hell, lets rent the series and watch it to figure it all out.

We went to blockbuster (nice and cheap, .99/per movie= 5 nights. not like in PA, where it was $7/movie=2 nights) can't really beat that until movies in buying are that cheap.

But, the only one they had was the 4th one, the others were rented out, so we got other movies.

we got house of flying daggers, flowers in the attic, and Legion.

By the time we got home I put laundry in the washer and we watched House of Flying Daggers (he liked it, (had girl that played sayuri in it) he also seen curse of the golden flower (has the one that played hatsumomo in it) and crouching tiger hidden dragon (had both the one that played sayuri and mameha).

and once we finished we took a shower and then we watched some futurama and went to bed. Pretty good day :)
